Cow brush wins design award
This just makes me happy — the Swedish company Sveaverken AB and designer Andreij Nylander have created a massaging brush for dairy cows that just won a Red Dot Product Design award. You hear so much about animal welfare in a negative light, that it seems like an excellent place for design to play a function. The so called Care-for-Cows brush is made of rubber and is installed in the stable that the cows can scratch against it, also removing parasites and increasing blood circulation. Hey, massages make us feel better and more relaxed, shouldn’t the animals that produce our food get a little of the same?
