David Folan’s lighting designs
Remodelista has a really cool post today about basket pendant lamps seen at the Source Sligo Restaurant and Wine Bar (and cookery school!) in Ireland. The lighting designer, David Folan, took old baskets originally used to collect oysters and wove in strips of tweed and cotton to create these pendant lamps:
He’s actually designed a number of really cool lights for Source Sligo using every day materials. See those silver pendant lamps in the background of the above photos? They’re actually mixing bowls.
And another fun lamp made from pickle jars…it’s hard to tell what kind of bulbs are used in these fixtures, but I think the Plumen compact fluorescent would be amazing.
