What does it take to power a lightbulb for a year?

December 12, 2010

Good just put together this interesting infographic to give a bit more insight into what natural resources (and how much) we use to generate power. If you left a 100-watt bulb on 24-hours a day for a full year, you would be using roughly 714 pounds of burned coal. It would take just over 8 days and 18 hours to produce the same amount of energy through solar collection on 100 square meters of panels. Check out the full size infographic here.
