Cape Wind and the Hollywood sign

April 28, 2010

You may have heard about the troubles facing the Hollywood sign, and if you haven’t, check out my recent post to fill in some of the details. Well, I’m here with updates and The Trust for Public Land has received the final donations they needed. The donor? Hugh Hefner! Cahuenga Peak (and the iconic Hollywood sign) will become part of Griffith Park thanks to the one and only playboy.

Second update: America’s first offshore wind farm, Cape Wind was approved Interior Secretary Ken Salazar today. I think this is a good step, though I do understand some of the other points of view regarding habitat disruption. I still urge people worried about aesthetics to consider the alternative options. If you are on the grid, can you really nay-say an alternative energy source?

What do you think of the Cape Wind plan?
