A garden grows in Brooklyn

April 12, 2010

As an apartment dweller with (sadly) no outdoor space, I’ve got a wicked case of garden envy. I do my fair share of windowsill herb growing and have a number of houseplants, but sometimes I dream of having a balcony or a patch of backyard where I can grow food and flowers. Sigh . . .

So what’s the next best thing? The Back Garden Project. Gordon Douglas has started blogging about his “back overgrown-trash-filled-lot” soon to be a lush and thriving garden space behind his Brooklyn apartment. Read more about his background and goals on Good, linked here.

I’m so excited to hear how the transformation goes, and to follow the blog series. Best of luck, Gordon!
