The Diversity of Our Planet in Photos

January 12, 2010

National Geographic has been a staple of the environmental news and journalism world for awhile. One of my favorite things about the publication are all the gorgeous photos. Today, I wanted to share a few that point to the incredible beauty and diversity of life on our planet. Check them out:

a flat-footed bug and a passionflower

smith's green-eyed gecko

peacock, new zealand

bioluminescent organisms, Japan

northern spotted owl

candle spruces, Finland

manatee, florida

polar bear

Those are amazing photographs, it reminds us just what it is we are trying to protect when we talk about stopping global warming.
