Secret garden? No, just rooftop garden.

September 22, 2009

This past Saturday was probably one of the most perfect days we’ve had in awhile. It was 70 degrees, only a few whispy clouds in the sky, and the perfect day for exploring new areas of Boston. My boyfriend and I strolled from Cambridge back to the city of Boston and on the way, discovered an oasis of green. IMG_1668

On top of a pretty average six-story parking garage in Kendall square sits a beautiful rooftop garden with manicured lawns, shrubs, flowers, pathways, benches and views of Cambridge and Boston in the distance. A beautiful lunch spot for those who work in the area, it is far less crowded on the weekends and offers what seems like a hidden spot to relax. Though it can be a little windy, it’s serene, quiet, and one of my new top spots for a picnic, hanging out with a friend, or just getting a dose of green in the midst of the urban jungle.
